Where are they now?
Name: Steph Owens
Course: Sport and Leisure Studies
Where are they now?: Running a successful Personal Training business
"My job involves working with clients to help them achieve a variety of objectivess. I develop training plans and diets specific to their individual requirements and support them through their programme. My job is really rewarding, I get to meet new people all the time and every day is different.
The course I studied at Deeside College provided me with a broad range of skills and knowledge. In addition to learning about the body and skill development, we also looked at how sport impacts on society and sport as an industry. We also gained a range of additional qualifications such as coaching badges and we took responsibility for organising a countywide sports festival.
After completing my course I was accepted by a number of top sporting universities, but I decided that I wanted to run my own business and I haven't looked back."
