Animal Care

Whilst completing an Animal Care course you will learn through both classroom based theoretical study and practical lessons. Courses at every level entail working with a variety of animals including exotic and rare breeds.


Our courses can provide either entrance directly into the workforce, or progression onto higher level courses including entry into University.

Career Paths

Animal Welfare Worker, Education Officer or Lecturer, Veterinary Nursem Zoo Keeper, Dog Handler.

The College Animal Unit houses over 100 different species of animals. It provides the practical training required to work in many areas of the animal care industry. All students gain handson experience with all of the animals and learn every aspect of their care.

Liz Williams

Prior to working as a lecturer at the College, Liz was Head Veterinary Nurse at The Cambridge Veterinary School for 14 years. During this time, she was involved in various aspects of teaching and examining Veterinary Nurses for the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
