Sports Scholarship Scheme
You don't have to be applying to study a sports course to qualify
for the scheme.
Sports Scholarships are worth £1,000 per year for up to 2 years, paid in instalments.
Sports Scholarships are for those who have exceptional sporting ability and who have representative honours in at least one sport at county or national level. You will also need to have an excellent school report.
The scholarship is designed to support students and provide financial assistance towards the costs of fulfilling your sporting potential. For example, scholarship students may use the money for transport to practice sessions/competitions, buying quality equipment and/or paying for a specialist coach.
How do I apply?
- Complete a Deeside College application form
- Submit a copy of your most recent school report
- Write a 500 - 1,000 word letter of application to the Director
of 14-19 provision, to tell us:
- Why you want to come to Deeside College
- Why you are applying for a scholarship
- What your personal aspirations are for the future
- How the scholarship will help you.
PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU ADDRESS YOUR APPLICATION TO THE DIRECTOR OF 14-19 PROVISION
We will write to you to acknowledge your application and we will confirm whether you have been selected for an interview. Interviews will usually take place within two weeks of the closing date.
The closing date for entry is Monday 30th April 2012.
