Hospitality and Catering students have returned to Deeside College after spending the week impressing the rich and famous with their food and beverage service skills at the Cheltenham Festival.
During the week, the students joined a team who prepared and served luxury meals to over 2000 race fans each day situated in executive boxes, chalet marquees and three first class dining rooms.
They served vintage champagne, smoked salmon, fillet steak and all manner of exotic dishes to their lucky customers, who included Ant and Dec, Ben Shepard and Ray Winston.
The students excelled at the event, gaining many positive comments from their famous customers and also from the events corporate hospitality provider, Keith Prowess.
Trip organiser and Deeside College Food Service Lecturer, Angharad Jarvis said:
“This was a fantastic opportunity for our students to work in a high-pressure, premium quality environment. It will have undoubtedly made a big difference to the knowledge and professionalism of them all.”
Hospitality Student, Kieran Elwood said:
“Serving celebrities was a little nerve racking at first, but I just put the skills that I have learnt on my course into practice and I was fine. The whole team gained some really good feedback, which made all the hard work from the week worth it.
