Technical Services

The Technical Services Team consists of professionals with industrial and commercial backgrounds who deliver a wide range of National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) programmes. The team are also involved in the delivery of Foundation Modern Apprenticeships which includes the application of Key Skills. All training is undertaken on company premises and the use of a Master Portfolio in the assessing process both help to minimises disruption to the production line. The duration of each programme can also be shortened by using this approach to assessing.

In all cases, employees/learners are subject to a Training Needs Analysis (TNA) prior to the start of training. This ensures that employees/learners are enrolled on the right programme and at the most appropriate level that enables employees/learners to obtain the right evidence for their portfolios. All employees/learners also undertake a full induction before commencing their training.

In addition to the above, the team run a CSCS test centre to enable persons working in the construction industry to gain their CSCS card. This is a requirement for both employees directly employed in the industry and also for contractors who are working on construction sites.
