Deeside College is an accredited centre for Chartered Institutue of Marketing (CIM) courses.
This course is usually run for three hours on one evening per week over 20 weeks. It is suitable for those wishing to gain a basic understanding of marketing concepts (you do not need to have any previous knowledge of marketing to join this course).
The course covers four modules including the tools of marketing, marketing and the changing environment, marketing in context, and understanding customers. You will learn about customer behaviour, segmentation and target markets, methods of research, how environmental factors influence an organisation, customer buying decisions and the use of information and communication technology in marketing.
You will be assessed by an online test and one written assignment.
This course is designed for staff working in a marketing department or environment. This course covers 4 modules of - marketing essentials, assessing the marketing environment, marketing information and research, and stakeholder marketing.
You will develop practical marketing skills whilst you learn about key marketing concepts and the application of the marketing mix at a tactical level.
This course is usually run for 4 hours on one evening per week over 40 weeks. To join the course, you will need to have the CIM Introductory Certificate, 2 A levels or equivalent, or a minimum of one year’s experience of working in marketing and/or business.
You will be assessed for each of the four modules by either exams or written assignments.
