Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy and Holistic Therapies
Collectively the department has 7 salons; 4 salons are themed around Beauty & Holistic Therapies, with a further 2 salons designed to train new hairdressers along with the ‘Style Cafe’ offering a ‘real’ working environment with paying clients and a feel of a professional salon.
The courses available range from new Entry Level courses to Advanced Level 3 qualifications in Beauty Therapy, Hairdressing and Holistic Therapies. These courses are very popular and allow students to demonstrate their motivation and keenness to excel in the profession, allowing progression onto the next level or qualification.
We offer a variety of qualifications from National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ), Vocational Qualifications (VQ) and new Vocational Related Qualifications (VRQs) in readiness for the New Quality Framework.
This year we were able to offer a new and unique programme; 'Pathways To Apprenticeship' which allows fulltime students to gain experience within local beauty & holistic salons ,students are taught the skills for level 2 beauty therapy qualification with additional qualifications.
The Workbased provision is unique to Acquire Training. It is very much an employer focused training provision, which allows salons to be trained to the salon standard and attend college modularly through specifically designed scheduled blocks. The assessment process is ongoing within the salon throughout the 18 month duration, with some salons having their own assessors who assist with the quality programme.
All salons with whom we work with are well established, professional and focus on the development of their staff.
