Corus Living Solutions was created in 2003, to design, manufacture, deliver and erect fully fitted out steel framed finished room modules at its Shotton Works, based in North Wales, UK.
Corus Living Solutions is developing new and sustainable positions on the Deeside Industrial Park in North Wales.
Acquire Training have had an active partnership with the company since 2003, are delivering NVQ's in Performing Manufacturing Operations level 2, Business Improvement Techniques at level 2 and 3, Distribution, Warehousing and Storage Level 2 and also Key Skills and Employment Responsibilities and Rights which are part of the Foundation Modern Apprenticeship in Industrial Applications. In excess of 70 staff have already achieved this apprenticeship training.
We have designed and implemented a Master Portfolio of evidence which has greatly assisted the process of assessing and has been recognised as an innovative method of assessment which recently formed part of a All Wales national fforwm Award won by the College for "Plugging Skills Gap in the workplace".
Key Skills have also been successfully integrated into the NVQ process ensuring that all learners/employees have a clear direction for achieving their National Vocational Qualification.
Acquire Training has developed a Learner qualification tracking system which can be accessed through the Acquire Training website, this enables the company to access a learner/employee tracking data base throughout the year and shows the current progress of their Learners/employees. This information is password protected which is therefore confidential to senior managers of the company.
We are involved in ongoing development with the company in respect of training provision which has helped the company to progress. Steering group meetings and operational meetings are the forum for discussing training and development issues. This action has developed and strengthened the partnership between the company and Acquire Training.
