Students link with local employers during Flintshire Business Week

BTEC National Diploma in Business Studies students from Deeside College recently received college certificates for their involvement in the second annual Flintshire Business Week which ran from Monday 29 September to Wednesday 8 October 2008. The certificates were presented by Senior Business Advisor for Flintshire County Council, Patricia Carlin, who said: “Flintshire Business Week is only as good as the feedback we receive from participants. The students from Deeside College played a very valuable and important role in gathering essential information. This support from the college was pivotal to the success of Business Week”.

The students assisted with a number of events involving local employers including Airbus UK and UPM - Shotton, and were able to network with local business people and attend informative commerce related presentations. One of the students who was involved in Flintshire Business Week, Charlie Barton, stated: “The week was very exciting and will definitely benefit my Business Studies qualification”.

Robert Walford, Partnerships Manager, Employer Engagement at Deeside College said: “Deeside College were delighted to be a part of Flintshire Business Week. The events which took place provided an outstanding opportunity for our students to get involved with local employers. We are already looking forward to next year’s event”.
