The Employer Engagement department at Deeside College this week hosted health and safety breakfast seminar sponsored by the Welsh Assembly Government. The seminar provided employers with an update on health and safety issues and legislation and the opportunity to share best practice.

Deeside College have developed a CD that will help employers across the UK induct staff from overseas into their business.

The CD has been designed to work in line with an employer’s current induction process and contains information about health and safety and food hygiene.

Lee Burton from Buckley started his career in 2001 as a line operative at fresh pizza producers Paramount Foods and has since worked his way up the ranks. Having undertaken a range of in house professional development courses, food safety courses, training supplied by equipment suppliers and an A1 Assessor Award through Deeside College; Lee progressed to the position of Training Facilitator at the Deeside based firm.

The employer engagement department at Deeside College recently launched an innovative network for Small to Medium sized companies from across Flintshire.
