Engineering apprentices being trained at Deeside College recently excelled themselves at the Engineering Employers Federation (EEF) Awards, which aims to find the best engineering apprentices in Wales.
Learners develop administration skills in community course
A group of learners have recently successfully achieved administration skills thanks to a course run by Deeside College at their Mold Learning Centre in Terrig House. Whilst undertaking the course, the group gained a wide range of office skills, from word processing to developing their telephone skills and running an office. The group then took part in a 'mock' interview to help prepare them for real interviews in the future. It is hoped that the course will inspire the learners to study further and/or give them the confidence to get a job.
Deeside College to pilot innovative shared apprenticeship
Deeside College are part of a collaborative partnership between the Sector Skills Council for Science, Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies (semta) and other training providers, who are piloting a new shared apprenticeship programme.
Technician in Opto-electronics Project (TOP) launch event gives employers an insight
Deeside College and the Photonics Academy held a launch presentation at the OpTIC Building in St Asaph on Friday April 18th 2008, to promote the new technician training programme for the Opto-electronic/Photonics sector, starting in September 2008.
