Staff at Paramount Foods were celebrating this week after receiving their Foundation Modern Apprenticeship awards in Food and Drink Manufacturing Operations.

BTEC National Diploma in Business Studies students from Deeside College recently received college certificates for their involvement in the second annual Flintshire Business Week which ran from Monday 29 September to Wednesday 8 October 2008. The certificates were presented by Senior Business Advisor for Flintshire County Council, Patricia Carlin, who said: “Flintshire Business Week is only as good as the feedback we receive from participants.

A modern apprentice who is trained by Deeside College will next week attend the Wales Modern Apprenticeship Awards in Cardiff, where she hopes to take home the title of Modern Apprenticeship Learner - Wales 2008.

Deeside College has recently secured the training contract for one of the UK’s largest defence engineering providers, the Defence Support Group (DSG). DSG was launched on 1 April 2008 following a merger between ABRO and DARA business units. DSG was formed to support the Armed Forces and deliver wider defence objectives in support of the key Defence Industrial Strategy requirements.
