Health and Safety

Environmental Management

Every organisation must consider its impact on the environment. The Environmental Protection Act 1990 places a duty of care on all employers to conduct their businesses so as to cause no environmental offence or nuisance. Two examples are the legitimate disposal of waste, and the reduction of noise and traffic associated with a business. In addition, many potential customers now require suppliers to have an environmental policy.

Types of services an employer may seek help and advice include:

  • Health and safety policy
  • Auditing
  • Systems and procedures
  • Monitoring and assessment(e.g. Noise, COSHH, Vibration, Ergonomics)
  • Control strategies
  • Advice regarding risk assessment
  • Advice regarding training needs

Deeside College can provide assistance in relation to the above services.
