Deeside College has provided us with an excellent range of health and safety training courses".

  • North Wales Fire and Rescue Service
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service

The North Wales Fire and Rescue Service headquarters in Rhyl have been working with Acquire Training on health and safety training which incorporates the NEBOSH General Certificate. A customised Accident Investigation course was designed for them by Deeside College and a prerequisite for persons wishing to attend this course was that they had to be qualified to NEBOSH General Certificate level.

Since the delivery of this course, the NEBOSH General Certificate and the nomination of Accident Investigators, the organisation has significantly reduced the number of accidents in the workplace. This is mainly due to an improved health and safety knowledge and approach towards accident causation analysis, resulting in an improved approach towards controlling risk.

Mr Kevin Hughes, Training and Development Manager, said:
"North Wales Fire Service is pleased to be associated with Deeside College as a training provider. In excess of 45 service members have undertaken a customised, NEBOSH General Certificate programme. This programme was designed to meet our needs and will undoubtedly assist the service in meeting its commitment to providing a safe and healthy working environment".
