Student Support Fund
Need help with the costs of uniforms, equipment, trips or childcare? The Student Support Fund is designed to support those who may struggle to complete a course without financial assistance. This fund covers the additional costs, after enrolment, that a student may incur such as specific equipment (eg uniforms, catering knives, essential beauty therapy oils, paints etc), which form part of their course, or childcare costs. Further information is available from our Student Services team. Please note that as the Student Support Funds are limited, we regret that it may not be possible to help every student who applies.
Assembly Learning Grant (ALG)
If you are aged 19 or over on the first day of academic year 2011/12 (1 September 2011), you can apply for an Assembly
Learning Grant (ALG). Assembly Learning Grants are funded by
the National Assembly for Wales and provide extra money for
students who might otherwise experience financial difficulty
while studying. ALGs are means tested and if your family’s residual income is
less than £18,371* a year, you may receive between £450*
and £1,500* for the year.
