Flintshire 14-19 Learning Core Development Centre

Flintshire County Council

The Flintshire 14-19 Learning Core Development Centre, hosted by Deeside College, is a partnership project
between the government and local education providers. Since opening in September 2008, the learning support centre has provided direct access to learning for over 300 14-16 year old learners from Flintshire schools each week.

Flintshire Adult and Community Partnership

Partnerships

The Flintshire Adult and Community Partnership continues to go from strength to strength under the leadership of Deeside College. In partnership with the Welsh College of Horticulture, Coleg Harlech WEA, Flintshire County Council, North Wales Welsh for Adults Centre (Bangor University) and Flintshire Local Voluntary Council (FLVC), we have achieved the highest inspection grades for any county within Wales and we continue to demonstrate innovation and commitment to adult learning.

Feasibility Study

During 2008 we completed a feasibility study in conjunction with our partners at Coleg Llysfasi and Yale College. This will lead to exciting new models for collaboration from 2009 onwards, linked to the Welsh Assembly Government's Transformation "agenda".
